New graduate interviews

To ensure that newly qualified registered nurses have a smooth transition into the workforce, Australian State and Territory Departments of Health have established programs through which new graduate nurses can be supported, these can be known as New Graduate programs or Transition to Practice programs. Applications for these positions can be very competitive and involve application through the State and Territory Departments of Health and a face to face interview.

The interviews for the new graduate positions often take place between August and September each year. Speaking from my own experience, the application process can be stressful and it coincides with the final year of study for students and so the pressure can mount up.

For anyone approaching their interviews, we have developed a vlog to give some hints and tips on how to prepare for your interview and how to conduct yourself in your interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4yE7E5tdJc

Best of luck!
